Which Expansion pact
I was thinking about buying Guild Wars but I don't want to buy all of them. So which expansion set should I buy, I would think it would be Nightfall since that was the latest one. Thought I would ask the players first though.

My opinion.
Prophecies was long and boring Factions is more interesting with the whole Kurzick and Luxon thingy, but its been out for a while so that has died down too. Nightfall will have the most players on as it is the latest addition to the collection. |

Factions is very easy to level up in, although you wont learn your skills quite as good, plus it gives you the option of playing Aliance Battles which should make the game last a bit longer if you get tired of doing the Missions/Quests .
Prophecies has the best storyline of the three yets as stated in later missions you might struggle to get a team together. Nightfall is good fun though its a bit dull till you get off the training island, then the fun starts!! As always just my opinion |

to start with nightfall would be ideal. its a rather easy campaign compared to prophecies and factions. the heroes make the game much faster and alot easier to complete missions. in most cases a group of heroes is better than a group of players, you have less of a chance to fail the mission because of someone else lagging, or aggro mobs or countless other player problems.
forming a party is also instant. you do not have to wait 1 hour + for that monk that never shows up, or joins and leaves. Heroes give you the ability to play 4 differant characters at once. once you learn to manually use hero skills it gets very easy. all you really need is monk-necromancer-fire ele and you can pretty much walk through the game with no trouble. nightfall also has some of the coolest monsters of all the three games. nightfall is the latest release so more players are found on it. but prophecies and factions are far from deserted. factions and prophecies have fun campaigns, good loot and tough monsters but it lacks many of the qualities nightfall has. so i would get NF first. in the end, its up to you. they are all fun, and each have certain things others dont. but like i said. if your starting your gw career i would suggest nightfall because the heroes make beating the other games very easy and removes most of the waiting. [edit] nightfall is also the easiest game to make gold on. you dont have to use the common clone farming builds that everyone and their mothers use. you can play any character and any build and still make money. NF is the most player friendly to new players. Last edited by HuntMaster Avatar; Aug 12, 2007 at 02:05 AM // 02:05.. |
